The world produces a lot of single-use plastic. Massive amounts of this plastic end up polluting the ocean. That’s why when Kelpn started trying to solve this problem, they looked to the ocean for a solution. Kelpn uses seaweed as the base for plastic replacing biomaterial. Unlike other ‘bioplastics’, this means their product doesn’t compete with food production by taking up valuable land and freshwater resources. Better yet, their biomaterial is truly compostable, so it can break down in the backyard in a few days, and won’t leave any nasty microplastics behind.
