Coffee & Jam with Steve Anderson, Buzz Club & Marian Johnson

Join us at this Coffee & Jam event to hear from some talented speakers share their experience and knowledge in the Food & Innovation sector!

First, you’ll hear from Steve Anderson, former CEO of Foodstuffs New Zealand. Steve was appointed as CEO of Foodstuffs South Island Ltd in June 2000. In October 2010 Steve took on the role of Managing Director of Foodstuffs (New Zealand) Ltd and became the Chairman of Foodstuffs NZ Liquor Ltd (Liquorland). Steve is also the Chairman of the Food for Thought Trust, a free nutritional education programme that assists year 5 and 6 primary school children in making healthier food and lifestyle choices.

Steve will speak at this event about the ‘dos and donts’ when selling into the supermarket trade.

Next up, you’ll hear from Wilbur Morrison and Edward Wilbur, Founders at Buzz Club. Buzz Club is a Startup that modernises a historic drink using a combination of native New Zealand honey, and fresh local produce to bring a taste of native NZ, in a can. With their innovative product, Buzz Club were a part of FoodStarter 2021 – A competition founded by New World and Ministry of Awesome, which aims to find New Zealand’s most innovative food and beverage products.

Buzz Club will be presenting at this event about their journey thus far and things to take into consideration as a new Startup in the Food & Innovation sector.

Lastly, you’ll hear from Marian Johnson, Chief Awesome Officer at Ministry of Awesome. Marian will be presenting about the 2022 Orion Energy Accelerator coming up. Orion and Ministry of Awesome are teaming up again looking for energy innovations that will help shape the future of our energy sector and power a cleaner and brighter New Zealand.

Marian Johnson has been leading the Ministry of Awesome team since late 2017 helping to drive a dynamic startup and innovation ecosystem that will power NZ’s future success. Marian is deeply passionate about engineering the serendipity required for a successful Kiwi high growth startup community. Marian will be presenting about the 2022 Orion Energy Accelerator.
