Startup Breakfast Club: PR and Comms for Startups

Equipped with a wealth of experience in helping international startups with their PR needs, Eunbit will talk about how to expose your profile to an international audience.

Next, you’ll hear from Kylie Yardley who’s a Content Producer at ChristchurchNZ with over ten years of experience in Comms and PR. Kylie will talk about how to engage reporters and editors effectively to get their attention and gain media traction.

Last but not least, Anna Guenther, founder of PledgeMe and currently a Customer Manager at New Zealand Trade Enterprise, will share with you some tips and tricks on how to talk to journalists, and how effective PR helped Pledgeme grow to being one NZ’s largest crowdfunding platforms.

Eunbit Jang
VP of Communications @SparkLabs

Eunbit Jang is VP of Communications at SparkLabs Group. She is responsible for supporting over 200 portfolio companies of SparkLabs Korea with their communications and marketing needs, as well as their demo day, which is the largest startup demo day in the globe with over 3,000 attendees. Previously, she was Communications Team Lead at Yanolja, the fastest-growing unicorn in the travel sector in Asia.

Eunbit will be speaking to us today about how to expose your startup to international audience, when to start and who can help.


Kylie Yardley
Content Producer @ChristchurchNZ

Kylie creates content for ChristchurchNZ promoting all the awesome things happening in our city – from profiling innovative businesses, sharing the latest economic insights through to major events and visitor attractions. Kylie has worked in communications for over ten years, across central and local government, banking and finance in both the UK and New Zealand.

Kylie will be talking about how you can engage media outlets to help get your story out to a wider audience.


Anna Guenther
Customer Manager @New Zealand Trade and Enterprise

Anna Guenther is the co-founder of PledgeMe. Since launching in 2012 over 1,500 creative, community and entrepreneurial campaigns have raised over $60 million through the crowdfunding platform. PledgeMe was the first licensed equity crowdfunding platform in New Zealand, and one of the first in Australia.  

Anna has also worked for MIT and Harvard, and completed her Masters in Entrepreneurship with a focus on crowdfunding. She has just started a role with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise helping kiwi companies grow for the good of Aotearoa and the world.
 
In her talk, Anna will be sharing some of her tips and tricks for making friends with journalists, war stories, and how media coverage helped PledgeMe grow.
